Dear family and friends,
I pray this finds you well! I just want to share with you what God has laid on my heart and what He is currently doing in my life. God has been calling me to be His hands and feet for a while now, but I’ve done a good job of ignoring Him thus far. I have always felt a restlessness about what I’m doing with my life- or really, what I’m not doing. I’ve felt tugs when people around me have gone on mission trips, but never pursued it as “earthly” things withheld me and distracted me. So I started praying- everyday, that God would show to me what I’m supposed to be doing, to show me what He created me for.
In listening to His calling, I applied and have been accepted on a mission trip of a lifetime! I am going to be a part of the World Race in partnership with Adventures in Missions, where we will minister to 11 countries in 11 months beginning in January 2015. We will live with and give hope to the destitute in the Philippines, befriend prostitutes and care for the orphans in Thailand, bring hope to the people of Cambodia, pray God’s light and presence over the people of Vietnam, fall in love with the people of Malawi, encourage the believers of Zambia of God’s faithfulness in the face of challenges, advance His kingdom in Zimbabwe, reintroduce a life-giving faith to counteract the rampant rise of alcoholism and suicide rates in Ireland, bring light and hope to Bulgaria in the midst of human trafficking, bring kingdom clarity and peace to the land of Moldova among the rise of underground crime rates, and teach English while living with the gypsies of Romania.
I declare, not only transformation on the countries we will visit, but the transformation of myself as well.
Among the many challenges that I will face, the greatest one that I face is my financial support. l ask that you would decide to partner with me, whether it be prayerfully or financially. I need to raise a total cost of $16,242.60 which definitely is a big amount, but we serve a God who is greater than any monetary figure.
If 60 people pledge $45 for 6 months, I would be fully funded.
My funding has several deadlines that I have to meet. Here’s a breakdown of those deadlines:
1st Deadline: $3,500 –Due 9/26/14 (before Training Camp)
2nd Deadline: $7,500 –Due 12/18/14 (2 weeks prior to departure)
3rd Deadline: $11,000 –Due 4/1/15 (End of 3 months on the field)
4th Deadline: $16,242.60 –Total Due 7/1/14 (End of 6 months on the field)
Donations may be made by check, money order, credit card, bank transfer, or EFT (Dynapay).
1) Check/Money Order – make payable to Adventures in Missions with my name in the memo line (Ashleigh Cleland). Mail to: Adventures in Missions, PO Box 742570, Atlanta, GA 30374-2570.
Please mail only one check per envelope, as checks are processed mechanically.
2) Credit Card/Bank Transfer – Click on the “Support Me” link on the left-hand side of my blog at www.ashleighcleland.theworldrace.org and you will be directed through the process of making a one-time, monthly, or quarterly gift by credit card or bank transfer.
All donations made this way will be charged a transaction fee of 2-3%.
3) EFT (Dynapay) – Go to adventures.org/dynapay to fill out an online form for a monthly Electronic Funds Transfer from a checking account.
No transaction fee will be charged for donations made through EFT.
