This month in Thailand I have had some of my most favorite moments, some of my most embarrassing moments and moments that take your breath away. What better way to explain the awesomeness of what God is doing in Thailand then through pictures? Here is some of my top ten moments in Thailand.

Coffee

In Chanthaburi there are so many coffee shops! Some are fancy and some you drink out of a bag.

At one of the coffee shops they syphoned the coffee to brew it and used beans from Africa that were acidic. Our coffee experience was like a science experiment.

Learning how to teach creatively

I am slightly ashamed to say that I have watched ‘VAMPIRE DIARIES’ all of the first season to connect with one of our students. It ‘SUCKED’ me in.. get it! HA! We got creative while practicing our conversational English and building relationships.

We also talked about Taylor Swift a lot!

Did I mention bananas and ‘THE WALKING DEAD.’

Praying for everyone

we could get our hands on.

Every day after working schools Pastor would take the opportunity for us to make house visits. On this occasion we went to his wife, EH’s mothers house and prayed for her unbelieving parents. Her father had been very ill. We prayed and believe that He will be healed and that they may come to know Jesus.

Going to school

Every morning we would go to schools and teach English. The first week we were able to go to ‘CHILDREN’S DAY’ where the community celebrates children. At the school we went to they had powered Para gliders who flew over and dropped candy to the crowds below. While watching the acrobatics one of the men fell to the ground. The whole crowd grasped in fear. People were jumping on scooters and running towards the man who had fallen in a patch of trees. We prayed and wondered if God would do something amazing in this moment for his kingdom. The man was okay.

Other times at schools we would have classes that were better then others. Each time I loved seeing the light bulbs going off in their heads and seeing them learn!

Also one day while teaching a class outside. On the fly I had to teach and they didn’t know very much. We learned the cha cha slide. I cha cha slided into some dog poop in front of 50 students with bare feet. WINNING.

Swimming with Elephant poop

Some of the other teams had been posting pictures riding elephants. They looked like episodes of ‘AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL.’ So we went with this expectation that it was going to be the best experience of all time and that we were going to look radiant.

It was the best time ever however when we were riding the backs of elephants and entering water to swim with them- all of the elephants started to poop! We had these sour faces on as we tried to not let any of the water get into our mouths or let our bodies enter the water. Needless to say I am pretty sure I failed at both. Here are my ‘AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL’ Pics.

Thai pants (HAMMER PANTS)

On the race you dress differently then you usually do at home. Your clothes are often limited- here in Thailand I have learned to love thai pants! They are awesome and I think that at every opportunity I will wear them!

HAMMER TIME!

Pastor E

Our ministry contact and his family have made our time here so special. I loved that he is in constant prayer for how to partner with what God is doing here. He also has a really great laugh. He loves to go running and if you go running with him you will have to do ninja kicks and eat rote. He will tease you that him and his wife are trying to make you fat and happy. His wife has rubbed my belly a few times. Either way I love that they love God and have loved the team well. I will always remember them.

#2

Students from English class

Every day we meet with our students who are the best. It has been so fun meeting them and learning along side of them. They have challenged us and it has been impressive seeing them come every day hungry to learn.

Ra loves Taylor Swift and we had lot’s of dance parties.

Nop is the best tour guide ever! We have had so many adventures most including coffee.  I am praying that God will heal his leg!

#1

Thai friends

Our students are more then students, they are our friends! We have loved being intentional and sharing our stories with them. We have taken the time to show and share Jesus with them. I am praying that God will continue to speak into their lives! I also hope we will see each other again!

I will miss my Thai friends! <3

I have loved my time here in Thailand.  I have loved that God continues to show me that ministry looks so different everywhere.  I love that in HIS kingdom people matter.  I love partnering with pastors and ministries that are about loving people and seeing Jesus move in their lives.

Sending love from Thailand!

Next stope Cambodia!
