I love Nicaragua. Simply stated, I love it more then any country I’ve ever been to. Being here has been a blessing to my team and to me. We live with an incredible family and I’m so blessed to be living here with Pastor David, his family, and my team. My team sleeps inside of the church, which is pretty darn cool. Who can say they lived in a church for three months? Lindsay, Anna, Kayleigh and Alex have set up their tents and I have set up my hammock to sleep in, which is a blast. I honestly think our team got the best living situation because we have an outhouse, bucket showers (which are freezing) and we get to tent/hammock. This is exactly what I wanted from the race, I wanted to rough it. I didn’t want to have those comforts that I’ve always had. To have a real bed and not a hammock, have a running toilet, have a running hot shower again it will make coming home in two and a half months so sweet. I love our ministry here so much. Basically, every day we simply get to do life with Pastor David. Every morning we have been doing construction, and by the way, I’m getting ripped! Then, in the afternoon we go around our village and do home visits and usually pray for people that are sick. We are currently planning on putting together a bible study for when we do home visits. I’m just really happy here in Nicaragua. It feels so right to be here. I love my team so much, and am beyond excited to doing life with them for the last two and a half months. I can see now how God has been preparing me the last six months for these three months here in Nicaragua. The race hasn’t been easy for me at all. This is absolutely they hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. Everything I’ve struggled with or was dealing with I can see why God brought me through those trials for how I’m being used here in Nicaragua. I’m excited to see what God is going to do here and how he is going to use my team. My goal for the last two and half months of the race is to have a blog up every week, sharing with you the things that God is doing in me and through me on the race. I’m crazy right? I stink at blogs and I’m sorry that I haven’t updated everyone the past couple of months but I’m going to try my hardest here.
I have two and half months left on the race, which is crazy because here I am in Nicaragua preparing myself for going home. I’m going to need to start working when I get home, so if you could keep me in your prayers for finding a job when I get back, that would be greatly appreciated. My goal is to not mooch off my parents so I would love to start working asap when I get home. My squad lands in Houston on May 16th, where we have to pay for our flights home from Houston, so I could use some help getting home from there! If you would love to help me out that would literally be so amazing! My email is [email protected], you can always email me about it. You can’t donate through my blog, sorry.
Please keep my team and I in your prayers as we finish the last two months!
Peace and love, Ariel
