I’m sure you’ve all thought it by now. . .

Arden will be getting back to the States soon. What is he doing after he gets back? When will we hang out? When can I take him to lunch and pick his brain about what it’s like to travel the world as a missionary for 11 months? When can I shower him with all the things he’s spent 11 months without?

No? Some of you haven’t? Oh. Well, you can ask that question now!

Let’s ask it together. Ready?

Arden, what are you doing after you get back?

Well, I’m glad you asked.

I’ve spent most of the year thinking about what comes next for me after the World Race. Throughout, my answer has changed, but was largely punctuated with a bold I don’t know.

Until now.

First of all, I land in LA, and have a few days to kill there. So if you’re in the area, hit me up. You can give me a free place to stay and buy me treats. (kidding. . . I can at least give you $1 a day.)

After L.A., I fly to AZ to spend some time (and Christmas!) with my parents (and anyone else in AZ. . . again, hit me up!)

Next, I (fly? drive? bus? walk? pogo? Probably pogo) to Georgia to spend time with my brother and his wife, Adam and Jess AND their son Zale! (and friends. You know the drill by now — Hit. it. up.)

In the first part of January, there’s a post-race event called “project searchlight” in Gainesville, GA that I plan on attending for a few days.

Until a few days ago, that was the end of my plans. Would I stay in GA? Would I move somewhere else in the states? Would I find a magical wardrobe and spend years in a land called Narnia, only to come out as an old man, and find myself young again, only seconds after I had entered? Your guess was as good as mine.

But about a week ago, I was presented with an opportunity that I’m excited share with you all!

On January 26th, 2015, I will be going back to the mission fieldBefore you freak out too much, let me first say it’s a 3 month trip, not 11.

This time, I will be going as a leader for a Passport trip. Passport is designed for college-age (18-22 years old) individuals where they spend 1-6 (in this case, 3) months in one location as a missionary team. Although I’ve been in leadership at times throughout the race, this role will look different as leaders aren’t peers like they are on the Race. A Passport leader has more authority and puts more focus on things like discipleship, health & safety, and spiritual growth.

This year, God has been speaking a lot to me about leadership, namely, living a lifestyle of leadership rather than only the role, and I believe this is a great next step in pursuing that.

Since the leadership role could be viewed somewhat like a job, the cost of this trip is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper – AIM does what they can to help out the leaders .
This time, as the fundraising bar at the top of the page now indicates, the
full amount of $1,800 is due on January 17th. That means there’s just over 3 months left!

I’d love if you’d consider supporting me once again for this incredible opportunity! More details about my specific trip coming soon! Any questions? Ask below!
