My name is Ara de Torres.   I am 26 years old, I live in Los Angeles, California and the Lord has given me a heart for His people.  On July 2013, I will be going on an 11-month mission trip called The World Race.  It is a ministry offered by Adventures in Mission.  In this trip, I will be traveling to 11 countries: Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.  Our teams will be spending about a month in each country while we minister alongside a local church.  Our days will be packed with construction work, church planting, Vacation Bible Schools, door-to-door evangelism, building relationships with orphans, praying for the sick in hospitals, and ministering in prisons and dump areas.  We would also attend to victims of sex slavery, tutor children, launch prayer walks, heal the sick, visit nursing homes and all other things that God may lead us to do.  Regardless of pace or activity, each day will be focused on being a part of God's kingdom work.  It is our hope to bring restoration and the hope of the Father's love to many tribes and nations.

Adventures in Missions (AIM) is an interdenominational organization that offers multiple opportunities to do mission work across all ages.  They believe in ministering to “the least of these” by focusing on discipleship. AIM believes that by giving people the opportunity to hold orphans, to give hope to the hopeless, and to pray for the sick, lives are transformed.  It is AIM's vision to be used by God to raise up a generation of radically committed disciples of Jesus Christ.

This will be my third mission trip with AIM.  My first mission trip was in Wisconsin, where we ministered to the Ho Chunk tribe and international students who were struggling with the sex slave industry in the Dells.  My second mission trip was in Haiti from earlier this year where we ministered to a local church in Carrefour and to a local orphanage.  On both mission trips, we were able to pray over  many of the locals during our prayer walks around the city.  What I personally love about AIM is their focus on prayer-led ministries. They encourage ATLs, which stands for Ask The Lord.  The day is began with quiet time with the Lord, asking for His leading as to where and how He wants us to minister for that day.  As you can, AIM is a very prayer-led and Holy Spirit-led ministry.

I am  very excited about the opportunity and experience that lie ahead.  I hope you see the value in what we will accomplish in this mission.  As you can imagine, a trip like this requires financial support from a number of people.  To be able to go, I would have to raise $15,500 by July 2013.  This will cover training, food, lodging, traveling expenses and other ministry funds that we may need.  I am writing to you today to ask if you would partner with me prayerfully and financially. Your financial support is very important and has the potential to eternally impact someone's life.

If you would like to be a part of this mission through financial support, you may do any of the following:

Thank you so much for prayerfully considering if this is something you'd like to participate in.  I hope to not only be a blessing to those I serve, but to you as well.   Not everyone is called to drop everything and go out to fulfill the Great Commission.  But, everyone can participate by supporting those that can go in your place.  It would be a great honor to be your representative and spread the love of Christ on your behalf.  May God bless you for your time and support.
