Hello out there in the Blogging world. I would like to give a shout out to the Man above for providing more than enough funds to meet my deadline for January 1st! I am not only $4,000 away from being fully funded! That deadline is March 1st, keep it in mind! =) I would also like to apologize for not keeping my readers updated with what has been going on in my life, because God is crazy and has been rocking my world!
Let us rewind to Christmas time. Christmas day was incredible; I ate authentic Indian food with my hands! Than we were scheduled to bring gifts to the pediatric floor of the hospital, well I thought we were scheduled to do so, it turns out that they have tried to do things for the children in this hospital more than once and they would not allow it. Praise God because they welcomed us in to give the children a small gift, a handmade card crafted by children in our neighborhood as well as a balloon animal. The smiles on the parents and children’s faces were incredible. Malaysia is a country where you cannot openly share the Good News of what Christ did for us. But we can show His love in other ways without words. While we were there we met this little boy named Shafiq, we believe he was 6 days old and was born with cerebral palsy, because of this his parents left him at the hospital because they did not want to care for a disabled child.
What made things even worse was this child was dying not because of the disease but because no one was showing him love. The nurses would feed him and clean him and that was the only physical touch this child had. Two of my teammates asked if they could hold him and the nurse was stunned at the question, it broke my heart but my teammates held that baby until it was time to leave. Just because He was born with a disability does not mean God loves him any less, and just showing Gods love that day I feel will have a lasting impact on little Shafiq’s life.
This Christmas morning was unlike any I have ever experienced before I did not open dozens of cool clothes or gadgets but the amount of love that I felt that day was one of the best gifts I could have ever received. We did not give these children a lot but we gave these people a glimpse of the love they can endure forever.
God and His love is SO much bigger than we can fathom and I firmly believe that although we are no longer at the hospital in Malaysia Gods love continues to be felt in that place.
Stay tuned!
Upon leaving Malaysia God was/has and continues to rock my world! Blogs about it will be coming and hopefully with some pictures!! 🙂
