The reaction on peoples faces that I get when I tell them where I am going during this next year and what I am doing is a reaction that I was not expecting. Most people want to know why I feel I have to go overseas to help people when there are millions of people in this country that need help. I totally agree with those people, our country is in worse shape that people are willing to admit, but there is hope!
For the hungry we have soup kitchens for the homeless we have homeless shelters, for the unemployed there is government funding and there is always a need for workers in grocery stores and fast food restaurants around the country.
People in developing countries do not have these luxuries because their governments simply do not pay attention to its people nor do they have the financial support to aid these people.
People feel as if being in an country for one month is not going to be enough time to effectively help these people for a long term but just think of how close you and someone can be just after a few short days. I met my squad on a Saturday afternoon and by Sunday morning we were the tightest family I have ever seen!

So why go?

Why do anything for that matter?

Why not just get a 9-5 job and work the rest of my life away until I can retire at age 65.

I chose to go because I feel that is what I am supposed to do in my life right now, why do people chose to be nurses or biologists? Because that is what they have a heart for and a passion to pursue those things through good times and in bad. Believe it or not but God has them doing those things for His perfect reason and He has called me and my squad mates to go to these 11 countries because that is His perfect plan for all of us right now.

I'm not going to these countries to escape the “reality” of Americas business world, I am going because it will be the hardest and most challenging thing I will most likely ever do in my life. First and foremost because I hate bugs and spiders! But that’s another blog! J But also because I feel that the joy God has given me is going to give so many people hope and joy themselves. I will never forget the first time I felt Gods love cover me and I want to be able to share that and speak truth of Christ into these peoples lives so that they can feel the same joy and love that God desperately wants us all to feel.
There are probably many times in everyone’s life where you find yourself seemingly alone in a decision whether it is the college you want to go to or the boy or girl you want to date, no matter what the scenario the people closest to you will be there with open arms whether is worked in your favor or not. Because LOVE CONQUORES ALL!
Whether you are reading this as a full supporter of my choice to go on this World Race or you do not agree with it at all I just ask that you continue to love me or any other racer you know.

As passionate as I am about this adventure, it’s not cheap nor is it easy to fund.
