These three statements quite accurately portray what our last two weeks looked like, living with ten other guys at Manistry. Nothing can compare when a bunch of guys are committed to each other and more importantly committed to bringing The Kingdom.

We spent a lot of time the past two weeks going door to door encouraging people and sharing Jesus with them. When we weren’t out in the village we spent time just hanging out as guys at our house. It was very refreshing to catch up and grow with the rest of the guys on our squad.

Christian brotherhood is something I am learning a lot about on this trip and more so the last two weeks. What does it mean to be a true brother to another man and how do we encourage each other? We as men are often scared to get vulnerable with each other and share the tough stuff with each other. We don’t want other people especially men to see that we don’t have it all together. Men have the tendency to be very surface level with each other and keep our guards up. Only when we are willing to be real with each other is true brotherhood formed and we can actually start to grow. So often there is a certain type of mold on how real men are supposed to look and act. I have discovered so much more what real manhood actually looks like. Real manhood comes when we walk in what God has called us too.

In our culture today there is definitely a lack of men willing to step up into what God has called us to. The trip that I am on has 30 girls and 10 guys which clearly shows the absence of true christian men. I am not saying all men need to go on a mission trip, but something needs to change. God has placed a special kind of leadership in men which more men need to realize and lead how God has called them too.

I want to encourage all men out there too seek out Christian brotherhood, to have a brother who encourages you and calls you too greatness is life changing.

These 10 guys have really become brothers the last 7 months and I have so much love for each one. I know when we all part ways in May we won’t all remain super close, but I know whenever I need a brother I can count on any one of them to be there for me. These men have been placed in my life for a season and want to take full advantage of the time God has given me with them.
