What is the World Race?

The World Race is a missions trip that sends teams across the globe to care for those in need.

To quote the one racer I know a bit more personally (Visit his blog here):

Depending on the ministry needed in each country, we will be:
loving on orphans,
caring for the sick,
feeding the hungry,
building homes for the homeless,
developing relationships in the community,
speaking for the mute,
loving the broken,

spreading the love of Jesus,
and witnessing God's work in his kingdom.

For my route, I will be traveling to 11 countries in 11 months, beginning in January 2014. Here are the countries in the order in which we'll be traveling:

Guatemala
Honduras
Nicaragua
Costa Rica
South Africa
Mozambique
Swaziland
Thailand
Myanmar
Malaysia
Philippines

It's truly such a privilege knowing that I'll be able to participate in such an awesome journey. In many ways, I'm reminded of Matthew 9:

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

How can I stay updated on everything you're doing?

You can follow me at this blog right here! Also, since it's easy to forget to visit blogs, you can sign up for email alerts here. I'll do my best to send you guys emails from time to time too. Overall, it's still several months until I head out, but I'll still be posting relevant updates and thoughts prior to then.

How can I support you?

First and foremost, please pray for me! Without the Lord's favor over me and my team, it will be impossible to truly change lives. There will be plenty of challenges leading up to and during the World Race, but I'm confident God will continue to be my provision. Prayers would be most appreciated!

And as expected, there is a significant financial cost, despite the fact that we will be living very minimalist lifestyles while we're there. The World Race will cost $15,500, not including additional travel out of and back to the US and necessary equipment and vaccinations. I will be doing my best to pay for as much as I can, but I also humbly ask for your support and partnership.

Online payments can be made here (also found in the upper left Support Me! link)

Checks are deliverable to:

Adventures in Missions
P.O. Box 534470
Atlanta, GA 30353-4470

Payable to Adventures in Missions and make sure to include "For Anthony Cao" on the Memo line

The first deadline is mid-September for $3,500. Whatever you guys can contribute would be hugely appreciated 🙂

Also, be on the lookout for new merchandise! Still working on the design.

So…what now?

Keep checking back on this blog! I'll be posting pretty frequently leading up to my departure with (hopefully) interesting and relevant news. Thank you guys again for joining me on this journey!

In Christ,
Anthony
