Have you ever played hide-and-seek? Of course you have. What child hasn’t?

There’s always great gusto and momentum at the start of the game and as much fun as it is to hide it’s also a thrill to be the one on the hunt. To not know where people are but to know if you carefully look you will sooner or later find them. Well, hopefully.

As a kid, I played this a lot with my siblings. Living in the same house for my entire childhood meant we had to get creative with our hiding spots. I remember there were countless times where my brother, older sister and I would tire of the game and end up moving onto something else. This at times (on many occasions) resulted in my little sister left in her hiding spot and eventually falling asleep.

Essentially, we’d given up.

This month has reminded me of the aforementioned scenario. We have been assigned Unsung Heroes, which has the purpose to find new contacts for the World Race. There is no set accommodation or area to stay in but it is up to the team to pray and ask the Lord for direction and move in accordance to what He has spoken.

It’s like a huge game of hide-and-seek all throughout Vietnam. We know there are so many people doing the work of the Lord in this country and we want to come alongside them and see if teams in the future can partner with them and help them in the Kingdom work.

We are having trouble though.

We have been in Vietnam for two weeks and we don’t have a single person to add to the database. It’s hard to keep playing when you don’t know where to look and you haven’t found anyone.

To be honest, it’d be easy just to give up. To write off the month and look to the next month. Ireland. Europe. Anywhere but here.

But just because I haven’t found anyone doesn’t mean the game is over. It means now is the time to refocus, and look like I’ve never looked before. My prayer is not to see the obvious but to have the ability to be patient and wait for the anointed ones. Yes, not just one but believe that there will be multiple. Please be praying with us.

I am ready to go find them. I’m not going to give up. They are waiting and I don’t want them to fall asleep!
