So I’ve now had a week to ponder training camp. Whew! And a week to be home. Hmmm. I think I have come to some conclusions. One of those conclusions being; that when you ask a World Racer ‘how was training camp?’ they will probably tell you about the fact that they were freezing for most of the nights there. They will tell you about how they had to take cold showers and that they actually only showered once during that 10 day period (yeah, gross but true). And they might let a few camp secrets slip on accident because they feel like you should know.

But in all reality, their insides are screaming out that they have heard a rumor and they want you to know about it.
It’s true. We have heard a rumor. And all of us are pretty sure it’s true. We don’t actually know where it started… we think it began deep down in the recesses of our hearts and is just now beginning to whisper into our ears. If you’re not careful, we might just say it out loud to you one day and then we might both begin to believe that it is true. The rumor is a simple statement. No complex syntax or unheard of concepts here. The rumor is this…

~There is something more!~

Haha I know… you wouldn’t think that this small rumor would entice 120 people to travel the world giving up comfort and control in their lives. Oh but it has. We believe it. We are beginning to believe that perhaps our lives are not really about us. That maybe, just maybe, the mundane schedules that we survive everyday are not what we were created for. That we are invited into a relationship that is more fulfilling than any other relationship we’ve had before. And that this rumored ‘something more’ is actually everything we’ve been waiting our whole lives for.

When Jesus talks to His disciples in John 14:12 and says “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these…” we are beginning to believe it. When Isaiah 61 sings to us that “The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on [us], because the LORD has anointed [us] to preach good news to the poor. He has sent [us] to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners” we are beginning to think that those words could actually be true.

So watch out world! If this rumor is true, and we actually start to believe it… well who knows what could come next!
