We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip. Here is what I’m expecting… I look at the realities of living in close community with others for a year as we are taken to places we have never been and these some of the things I expect.

  • I expect to encounter and learn a lot about conflict.
  • I also expect the adventure of this journey to be something that I will never forget.
  • I expect to laugh unexpectedly.
  • I expect to be overwhelmed by this calling we have.
  • I expect to be taken completely outside of my comfort zone.
  • I expect to feel some of the greatest defeats and victories of my life-time.
  • I expect this experience to change the trajectory of my life.
  • I expect to fall in love with my team-mates as we live life together and experience something that not very many people have.
  • I expect to learn and grow in wisdom and knowledge.
  • I expect to begin to understand how God is working in the nations.
  • I expect to feel the fullness of fear and discomfort at times and
  • I expect to feel the peace of knowing that I am where God has called me.
  • I expect to fall deeper and more passionately in love with the One who paid it all for me!!
