Travel day: Guatemala to El Salvador
3:24am-wake up…. after getting to sleep at 12…
3:36- drag pack out to lobby
3:50- eat delicious sandwich
3:55- load pack onto school bus
4:07- Lulu and Rosa Maria pray for us and we are on our way
4:54- arrive at bus station. Logistics gets off to find our bus
5:04- unload packs and camp out in bus station while waiting for the ticket booth to open
5:35- feast on pringles
5:50- bus driving finds our very obvious hoard of Americans and tells us the bus is ready to load.
5:57- load bag on bus
5:59- get window seat (aw yes)
6:17- off and running
6:18- knock out
7:55- potty, snack, and adding passengers stop
8:03- and now there’s a baby on the bus
8:04- read Harry Potter over bus buddy’s shoulder
8:08- bus driver is really excited about taking turns as fast as the bus can handle
8:45- bus plays “My Heart Will Go On” in Spanish
10:50- “lunch stop”. Pay 1 Q to use the bathroom
11:05- get wifi at the little tienda long enough to find out that I made the fundraising deadline. Praise!
11:14- eat almonds for first time in 2 months on bus
11:14- driver continues to drive like Jeff Gordon
11:37- take anti nausea because Jeff Gordon has a record to break
11:52- Jehovah’s Witness gets on the bus and starts preaching and singing to us
2:05- another potty stop
2:20- Jeff Gordon slows his roll and we ease our way through the mountains
2:44- JK Jeff Gordon has no chill
4:10- arrive at El Salvador border and go through customs
4:20- fastest time through customs yet
4:23- pay 2 Q to use the bano
4:41- back on the bus
6:30- arrive at bus station and unload bags
6:42- Morgan asks if I’m writing a travel update
6:43- walk over to gas station to meet WYWAM hosts that are housing the team for the night before we spread out to our ministry sites
7:55- drive to WYWAM base
8:18- arrive at base, forage for food
8:37- Wendy’s for dinner
10:00- pass out
