So here I am in Honduras, living in San Juan, which is located in the mountains. God really knows how I love the scenery and how much I feel at home living in the mountains because this is the 3rd month in a row. My team is alone this month which feels strange, going from 56 people last month to only the 6 of us but I know it’ll be good and there’s a lot that God wants us to grow in this month. Our life will be a lot slower paced than last month, mostly due to the fact that were alone and our evenings will be quieter, which I will really appreciate for the most part. We are living with Pastor Sebastian and his wife Norma, (who cooks us amazing food), and their children, Sara, Jefferson, and Princessa. I’m already in love with them they are so full of love and joy and Sebastian has a lot of wisdom, God has done amazing work in him and through him, I know we will learn a lot from him this month. We will be going to different communities to pray for people and on Saturdays we will be involved with the radio program that Sebastian does so we will get to share our stories and songs. They are also in the process of building a new church; they have the walls and the roof up. But there will be another blog in more detail about that.
So a story to share with you, Monday night at dinner we were all eating together and for desert we were putting peanut butter, honey and bananas on corn tortillas. They have a banana tree in the back yard so we had a whole bunch sitting on the table, and we were just having a good time talking and laughing. And when they heard me laugh they thought it was quite humorous and they kept wanting me to laugh. Sebastian is pretty funny and so he kept me laughing for quite awhile and then he came up with a game. The game was that we weren’t allowed to smile or laugh and whoever would laugh 1st had to eat a banana and then we would watch them eat it and then start a new round. Well its really no surprise that I ended up eating like 4 bananas and that only a few other people ate 1. It was so ridiculous and I was SO full after that I thought I would explode but surprisingly enough I could eat another banana right now if there were any left.
Prayer requests for the month:
- Health of our team
- Freedom in our fears that are not from God
- Being able to have sympathy and empathy for people without taking those burdens on ourselves
- Empowerment to do God’s will when He calls us to do it
