One of our ministries this week was to go up a mountain and tear apart a trail for a couple who recently moved to Costa Rica. They want to have a good place to set up trail rides for people who come to this area so we went up there to help them out with that. We broke off into 4 groups and worked with shovels and pick axes all morning and most of the afternoon, we had a beautiful view and lovely weather not too hot and not too cold 🙂 At some point in the morning I sat down on a little dirt mound to take a break and I had been sitting for maybe 1 min when I reached back to feel something crawling on my back and there are a ton of angry Costa Rican ants climbing ALL over my lower back and butt!! I got up and started screaming and flailing and the girls who were with me were swatting me and trying to brush them off me, and I was trying not to take my shorts off all the way because of the presence of boys but at some point I just had to ask if I could strip to get them all off me. I got water splashed on me and my shorts shook out and at the end of it all I ended up with minimal ant bites. Other people had alot of ant bites from other ant hills in the area and they hurt so I was glad that I got them off before it was too bad, but the thought of them crawling all over me still makes me shudder and the experience makes me laugh and my whole team + other teams found it quite humorous!! So other than that it was a great day and we got alot accomplished, we tore up a really nice trail for them and they were so nice and brought us lunch and drinks.
