We are leaving in about 15 hours for Mindanao. Our home until February 1st. Our team is going to Cagayan De Oro working to build the foundation for a brand new building. Our campsite will be a 40-foot by 10-foot cargo holder and tents outside of that. Our toilet will be a hole we have to dig when we get there. We will have to bring some water up with us every day. Laundry can be done at our ministry in the city, as well as showers taken there. I also have my pocket shower if we got desperate. It’s going to be very, very rustic. But I’m ready for the challenge.
In the mornings from 8-12pm we will be hauling rocks and boulders to build a wall in the field for the new children’s ministry KIM is going to start there. The boys don’t know it yet, but it’s definitely going to be a contest to see who can move more. After that in the afternoons, Jess will drive us down the hill and we will work with the ministry with street kids down in the city from 1pm – 7pm. I will hopefully have time to blog and update you all on Saturdays on our day off. I will post pictures of our campsite.
