The church we are working with here in Nigeria is called
Word Alive. It is so
incredible. One of our first days
they took us out to see the sights in Calabar. We went to this place with monkeys. They take hurt or injured monkeys in
and take care of them until they are able to survive in the wild. We learned so much about how they live,
their community and their chain of command. It is amazing how much we can learn from monkeys and their
basic instincts. Basically, there
is an alpha male. He always has
his tail in the air and if anyone wants to be the alpha, they have to fight
him. To read more, please read the

I want to talk about the female
perspective. The male will
do anything possible to protect his female. If anyone so much as looks at her, he steps in the gap. Forget about trying to give her
something. It has to go through
him first. The female knows her
place. She is protected. She knows no harm can come to her
because he always has one eye on her.
If anything should happen to her, he will fight to defend her. The kicker is, as he is fighting for
her honor, she is also fighting for his.
While he is doing his thing in his fight, she is protecting him….. she
has her own fight. As women, we
are so blessed to be the pursued.
We get the thrill of being chased after, fought for, protected. This, however, does not mean we are
exempt from responsibility. We are
called to be wives of noble
character. In 1
Timothy, it says wives are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything. We need to earn our respect. We need to earn our trustworthiness. We need to learn to tame our tongue. In Titus is says we are to teach what
is good. Teach what we know to
future generations about how to be women of God. And, of course, we have the Proverbs 31 woman.
a wife of noble character…..she is worth far more than
rubies…..
her husband has full confidence in her…..
she is clothed in strength and dignity…..
she speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction in on her
tongue……
her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also,
and he praises her…..
charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who
fears the Lord is to be praised.
