This is to growth.
This is to learning.
This is to taking God out of his box.
This is to dreaming big.
This is to patience.
This is to love.
We are at Casa Mateo in Jinotepe, Nicaragua. We are working with the couple who owns
this hotel, Glen and Lynn. They
use this hotel to fund their youth home.
They know the meaning of dreaming big. They do not fear all that the Lord puts in front of
them.
The truth is, they are in debt. The hotel is in trouble yet they still have faith. Before arriving, we were so excited to
go on this “rescue mission” for the hotel and bring Jesus to their youth
home. We get here and the youth
home is a self-running machine.
They go to school and are in sermon classes. Lynn and Glen are so busy trying to save the hotel and
balance the other ministries they have on their plate. We came a couple weeks
ago and found ourselves wondering what we were doing here.
In the midst of our frustration, God spoke. We aren’t necessarily here for manual
labor or preaching. I am not here
for me. I am not on this trip for
me. I am here to do God’s
work. It is not always going to
look how I want it to look. I am
not always going to get tangible results.
How selfish am I to think that God called me on this trip to satisfy
me. He called me here to bring his
name to the nations. That means
taking God out of the box and letting him be bigger than I can understand.
We are here for Lynn and Glen. We are here to fight for their ministry, to fight for
them. We are behind the scenes
this month and it is so powerful.
Their ministry is so powerful.
We are waiting in faith and patience that the supporters will come in
for them. We are loving them the
best we can. They pour their lives
out for these children and the volunteers they have. We are doing our best to pour into them, to give them
strength to fight. To give them
energy to pour into their 15 or so children they have here.
This is to say, God is moving……
