It’s so hard to
believe it has already been a week in Puerto Barrios. We made our 7 hour treck from Antigua last Saturday. We met with this man, Paul. Paul is the man. He runs a Christian radio station here
in Puerto Barrios. He knows just
about every ministry opportunity possible.
We have been to an orphanage, we went to bars in the middle
of the day to pray for people, we played in the park with kids who do drugs, we
have gone into local villages to give people clothing, love and prayer. We prayed over land that was about to
become a church. A couple days ago
we visited a dump, literally.
Families live there and dig through the rotten garbage all day. We went to give them food and clothing
but I wanted to give so much more.
There was also a bar we went to where their business is prostituting
women. I think the hardest part
for me is seeing these things, these injustices. You hear about them on the news, see pictures but being
here, meeting these beautiful people, it’s just so real. They have names and stories. Looking into a prostitutes eyes and
telling her she is loved, that there is something bigger meant for her
life. Hearing about loved ones who
are sick or dead from the people who live in the dump. Telling the man at the bar, Guerra Guerra,
that his shattered heart can be healed, there is hope.

In being here, talking with these Guatemalans, I have seen
God show up. I have seen grown men
face down in the street crying out to God. I have seen a demonic spirit get crushed by the holy spirit
in Viola. I have heard children
laugh, I have seen a prostitute, Estella, cry because she is afraid of
life. All different walks of life. I have listened to hand fulls of
stories and have many more to hear.
