1) Living in one house with 38 people is just about as stressful as you’d think it would be. It’s always crowded, always loud, and always messy. However, it’s also always fun.

2) It’s nice to have an “actual” ministry and a schedule this month. We will spend our mornings in prayer and spend our afternoons at an after school program and doing home visits for a local church!

3) I’m actually pretty introverted, which is shocking to me. Look for a blog about this soon. Probably. Maybe.

4) WE HAVE BEDS! Granted, they are triple decker rickety bunk beds. But BEDS THOUGH—

5) There is unexpected spiritual darkness here. We are in a community that is mainly Roma (gypsy) and there are many witch doctors here. You wake up and feel the weight of it all and the only solution is to get in the Word and pray aloud.

6) I don’t do cold weather. The next two months will be interesting.

7) The Romanian language is very close to Italian! It’s infinitely easier than Bulgarian when you’re trying to find your way around.

8) I love, love, LOVE leading worship for our squad. It’s wonderful to be able to praise Jesus with this gifting He has given me. 🙂

9) The Race is so, so, so much harder than I ever thought it would be. I’ve spent a lot of it so far being stressed, confused, homesick, and emotionally spent. But I already know Jesus better and deeper than I ever have, and that makes all of this worth it.
