Oh Malawi…where there is a 50% chance that the power will be on at the internet cafe in town and a 23% chance that you will be able to load two emails in an hour in your room.
Internet has been a bit limited this month, so it’s been difficult to get out updates, but Malawi was absolutely incredible. Saying goodbye to our contacts was seriously the hardest this month, and I already miss Nkhotakota like crazy.
So much happened this month, I can hardly even organize my thoughts, so rather than trying to make this blog flow, here is a discombobulated list of updates. Enjoy!
1. Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who donated toward purchasing Bibles for Timothy Harvest Ministries. Not only did we meet our goal, but we far exceeded it by raising $800 in one week! That’s enough for around one hundred Bibles! Praise God!
2. Our last night, we got to throw one of our translators his very first birthday party, complete with brownies and pizza. Our team learned that it is possible to make pizza sauce with ketchup…improvisation at its finest. We also got to make macaroni and cheese over a charcoal fire. There may only be one kind of cheese in all of Nkotakota, but we made it work. 😉
3. We are now in Lilongwe, tenting at a hostel for a few days for a leadership development weekend. Currently, I am fending off a stubborn family of ants that is insisting on trying to live in my tent and eat my peanut butter.
4. We are heading to Zambia on Monday, where we will be living in Mansa and working with Siloam Baptist Church.
5. Due to the lack of quality internet, I still have not been able to upload last month’s recap video, but hopefully I will be able to post both last month and this month’s videos soon!
6. I have already surpassed the nearest fundraising deadline, but I still have about $4000 to raise by January 1st in order to be fully funded. Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who has supported me thus far. I would not be here without all of you.
My heart is so full from this month’s ministry, and I can’t wait to see what Zambia has in store! I hope to update you again soon!
