Hello from Penang, Malaysia.

This month has been a crazy month. We have moved around a lot and I wanted to give you all a quick recap of the month because I am sure some of you have no idea what is going on with me.

We started this month out on Penang island but within a few days we were told by our YWAM contact that one of our teams would be heading back to the mainland for the month (we are here with Team W.O.W and Team Engedi). After prayer and discussion as a team we decided we would be the team to leave the island. So we left the island and spent a few weeks in Bukit Mertajam doing various ministries.

~We spent 3 days at a school for mentally disabled children and young adults. Playing with them, singing songs, sewing, cooking, and just spending time with them.
~We had the opportunity to travel into the Malaysian jungle and preach and share our testimonies with a group of illegal immigrants from Indonesian.
~We spent time with youth in the community.
~We were able to visit a Burmese refugee community outreach center. A place for them to learn English as well as basic computer skills. A place they could come together and live in community as they are so far from home. The Burma people are from Myanmar)
~We also spent 3 days at an orphanage. These children were some of the most well adjusted children I have ever seen who live without parents.
~We did yard work at a local AIDS home.
~We were able to share testimonies, sing and lead a youth program in church as well.
~And one of my favorites was an all night prayer night on Penang hill which overlooked the island of Penang. We were able to spend the night in prayer for the Island as well as the country of Malaysia.
On Sunday the 20th…we left the mainland and returned to the island for the remainder of the month. It was an expected change but we have learned to role with the punches so we have adjusted in the last week.
This past week while on the island we have had a new set of ministry. Much of this week was spent partnering with Greg and Mary’s team in the ministry they have been involved in this month.
~We spent time at the local Adventist Hospital helping in raising money for children who need heart transplants but who do not have the money.
~We spent a few days at the Kawan Center. A drop in center for the community, a christian ministry where people are able to fellowship and receive a free meal (or a free haircut this week).
~This past week I had the opportunity to share my testimony at the Wednesday night church at the Kawan Center.
~We have also spent much time in prayer this month, for this country as well as for this generation of youth, that they would step into the role they have in bringing about the Kingdom.
~We were able to attend an authentic Malay wedding reception.
So that was my month. Tomorrow we take a bus down to the capital city (Kuala Lumpur) which we fly out of on our way to Cambodia for the month of April. Following Cambodia we spend three months in East Africa….Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, and we end the race in India during the month of August. The plan is to arrive stateside the 1st or 2nd of September.
So….
Until Next Time
