This past week we got to help Jesus Celebration Church rebuild their building. They had torn it down right before we arrived because of termite and weather damage. We weren’t nearly as skilled as the Ugandan men that climbed the walls to build the rafters, and the rafters to build the ceiling and lay down the roof but we were able to help by lifting posts, grabbing tools, getting supplies, building walls, and so forth.
The pastor kept looking at us and smiling and just kept expressing that he was glad the timing had worked out for us to come because he didn’t know what he’d done without our man power.
Pastor Viannye is a man full of God and joy and we’ve been very blessed to come alongside his ministry for the rest of our time in Uganda. Some of us preached yesterday, and more of us will preach Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We will also start door to door ministry tomorrow and may end up helping out in the church’s hatchery before we leave. It’s been a good week and I can’t wait to see where the rest of the month takes us.
I’d love to upload some pictures and a video of us working at the church, but since our internet is slow, it’s not going to happen today. I hope to get it in at some point later.
Thank you to everyone who’s made it possible for me to be here! I’m loving getting to meet the people here and come alongside existing ministry to be a set of hands and a loving heart.
