“Welcome to September Route 3!”
The email subject line heralded a new season of my life. The message included an extensive list of travel to-do’s, preparation, training and… the opportunity to connect for the first time with the people with whom I’ll spend this next year: my squad!
I’ll be honest, I felt a bit doubtful that we could connect in any truly meaningful way via social media. But I joined the Facebook group anyway.
And I love them!
50 of my peers, hailing from many of the 50 states in the U.S., with 50 different histories of how we arrived on The World Race September Route 3… One Team.
As we’ve gotten to know each other over the past few weeks, I’ve observed: Creativity. Willingness. Fun! Openness & honesty. Prayerful hearts. Strong support. We’ve learned a little about each other’s personalities, likes and dislikes, and life stories: I can’t wait to hear the rest of them!
