We have been serving here in Lezhe, Albania at LightForce International!

LightForce runs a self-sustaining camp through its farm. It’s all-squad month, so all 45 of us have been preparing the camp by tending to pigs, goats, sheep, gardening, and demolition duty.

The Lord started showing me something new amidst demolishing concrete walls. Our ministry host George asked us to knock down perfectly good walls, because they had been holding pigs, but now he needed the area for goats.

Ever since I arrived in Serbia, the Lord has been showing me that He’s pruning me of things. It’s been difficult, because these things are good and fully functional. Why should I get rid of them?

As I hammered these walls down, it hit me:

It doesn’t matter how good they were, they’re not what’s needed anymore. I don’t need pig pens, I need an empty room for goats! Suddenly my heart aligned with my mind’s awareness of all of the space the Lord has been creating within me. I can’t wait to find out what He’ll fill the room with, and I praise Him for doing this at the beginning of my Race.

So, spiritually, my room looks a bit like this:

…and that’s totally ok.

And now, BIG NEWS!

Our squad has been presented with a need in Lesvos, Greece — and island next to Turkey.

Samaritan’s Purse is working there assisting refugees, and we have been asked to join. We are leaving TONIGHT to head to Greece and provide support until early November. I am overwhelmed at this opportunity and the Lord’s timeliness in putting us here with a host that is happy to send us off to where the need is greatest.

Please pray for my squad as we serve in this capacity! Pray we channel the light of the Almighty God of the universe, who is fully capable to move in mighty ways in this crisis. Pray the Lord gives us strength emotionally, mentally, and physically as we encounter new situations. Pray we allow Him to dig deep and move in ways greater than we ever would have anticipated or allowed outside of this situation.

In His Hands,

Anna
