Right now we are in Ulcinj, Montenegro. We are staying in
this beautiful villa with this woman named Bukurija, who is an amazing woman of
God. We are a five minute walk from the Adriatic Sea, where we can swim in the
clearest ocean water I have ever seen. It is absolute beauty.

It’s a monkey!

In the beauty of this place, there is also so much darkness.
Of the 26,000 people in this city, there are only 3 Christians.  There are more than triple the amount of
mosques than there are Christian people here, and five times a day, you can
hear the Muslim call to prayer. Five times a day, people are praying to a false
god. It breaks my heart. The beauty of this place is extravagant, and God
deserves to be extravagantly praised. Not just for the beauty, but just for whom
He is. He is a God that loves, and is gracious and compassionate. He is the all
consuming fire, and the lover of souls.

The other day, as I was swimming in the water, I got to
thinking about why God led us to this place. To be honest, I thought that this
whole world race adventure was going to be me constantly pouring out and being
uncomfortable and being brought to the breaking point daily. I’m sure there
will be days like that, months like that even, but… perhaps that isn’t the
point. Maybe God didn’t bring me on this race to fix me? Maybe he brought me on
this race so he could show me how beautiful and creative he is? To tell me that he loves me?—  “Look over
there, Anna; do you see the way that I created the waves to crash on the sand
like that? Do you see the way I created the ocean to stop at just the right
place, and just the right time? My timing is perfect. Trust me.” Or “Look into
the expanse of this ocean. It is deep, and wide, and high, and immeasurable. It
is like my love for you.”

Robin mentioned the other day that salt water heals wounds.
During the “Awakening” conference in Brasov, many of us experienced new levels
of brokenness, and were left with wounds that had been opened up so they could
heal properly. I think God brought us here so we can just be in the ocean of
his love, and let his healing water come and restore us.

That would be just like Him, wouldn’t it?
