From the day I was born I’ve been, well.. how do I say this… a bit of a whirlwind. Let me explain. On June 21, 1991, I decided I didn’t want to wait a moment longer to see the world. And so I emerged smiling, (or maybe kicking and screaming), oblivious to the fact that my Dad was frantically speeding to the hospital, while my mother delivered me, herself!! (So I think it is safe to say I can blame my speeding habit on my father!!)
Somehow I have not slowed down much since then, and I enjoy attacking each day with energy and enthusiasm. This overabundance of energy is especially evident when I play sports, which my Tuesday evening volleyball team could tell you I usually add a little cardio, as well as some enthusiastic ‘noise’ to the game! My favorite winter pastime is snowboarding, and I spend a lot of time running in the summer months (I’m a wimp, and don’t like running when its cold). In October 2013, I had the amazing experience of completing my first half-marathon (21.1 km)!
In the last 2 years, I have been on an intense journey, discovering who I am, and embarking into the terrifying unknown. This journey has been neither easy or glamorous, but each day I see how God has led me this far, and his “plans are for good and not for disaster, to give (me) a future and a hope.” (Jer. 29:11 NLT) This much- quoted verse has been such an inspiration to me, and reminds me daily that I am not a mistake, and that God really does have a future for me.
My only ambition for the future, is to live every moment of every day to the fullest, and to be ‘Jesus’ to those around me. Along with that, I am excited to indulge my passion for travel with world race, and see where Jesus takes me from there.
