As children's leader I often found that the lessons taught were just as much for me as for the kids. A few years ago I taught this lesson about Abram and Sarai and how they left their land in faith to go where God wanted them to go. And again during this past year in Bible Study Fellowship, God used it to show me that HE wants me on the world race and that I need to fully rely on HIM.
The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran. (Genesis 12:1-4 NIV)
Over the last 10 months God has continue to teach me reliance on HIM, and HE has provided in amazing ways. I have been waiting to purchase the equipment that I needed for the world race, and my parents encouraged me to make a wish list so they could help me with these needs for my birthday. This past week I started to get a little worried that I wasn't going to have all of my equipment in time for training camp. As of last Friday, I had my tent, head lamp, and few other small items. I asked U squad to pray that everything would come through, and also posted on my Facebook page. By the end of the weekend all of the necessary items on my amazon wish list had been purchased. Praise Jehovah Jireh, HE is GOD our provider. And thank you to all who blessed me with the equipment needed to go on the World Race. May God bless you and your families. I'm incredibly blessed by the support of so many friends on this journey, your prayers and encouraging words have helped me to continue forth.
