Hello!
My name is Anna Javaux, I have lived in the Charleston area for seven years. Throughout my time here I have been blessed to work as the secretary at Hope Assembly of God, where I not only managed the office, but led the children's ministry, and also volunteer with Without Walls ministry doing block outreach. By working in ministry God has expanded my view of the world and the needs that people have the greatest of these needs being to share the love of Jesus. God is now expanding my territory and calling me out on an 11 country 11 month mission trip.
I will serve as a missionary through an Organization, Adventures in Missions, in their World Race program. The set schedule takes me through China, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, India, Nepal, Romania, and Ukraine; however those plans sometimes vary depending on what God has in store for us! During the year I will be living simply out of a backpack and sleeping in a tent much of the time while traveling.
Through working with churches and ministries in local communities my team and I will preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and be a light and source of hope to many tribes and nations. The World Race promises adventure, ministry, community, and self-discovery as we, the racers, develop broken hearts that propel our lives toward bettering God’s kingdom.
I am so grateful for this opportunity that God has given me, and have every confidence that He will provide for my needs!
Would you please keep me in prayer as I prepare to leave in September? Here are some items of prayer:
Please pray that:
- I would continue to draw close to God, stay focused and keep moving forward in HIS ways. I would stay motivated to keep up with everything I need to do in preparation for leaving in September.
- I still need to raise $11,674, please pray that I will be able to raise all of the funds by September 1st.
- I need at least $6500 by August 14th to leave in September; I believe God that by September 1st I will be fully funded.
- I still need to get my vaccinations and malaria pills for the trip by August 1st.
- Pray that I would be able to find a place that will provide these things at a low cost and that God would provide the funds.
There are still several items that I need to have before I go to the weeklong training camp on July 13th, Please pray that God would provide these items in time for me to go:
sleeping pad (my bed for the year)
sleeping bag
packing cubes – this will help with living out of a backpack for a year
Day pack
eno hammock – useful for times when we can't set up tents but can sleep outside
Items needed by the end of August
Air porter- bag for my large backpack – this helps with keeping the bag from getting torn when traveling from country to country. This could also be a large duffle bag
Small laptop computer to use for staying in communication, and will also be useful in teaching computer classes
gift cards for travel special clothes, shoes, and other items that I will need for travel.

I am so excited to see how God will move in my life and in the lives of others in the coming year. I hope not only to be a blessing to those I serve, but also to you.
