If each day turned out as I expect, life would be too predictable. I wouldn’t get to have conversations about God with people at the gym, or at Starbucks, or run into friends I haven’t seen in a while. I wouldn’t get to enjoy the spontaneity of life, and God’s greater plan for each day.

“Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will be established.”Proverbs 16:3

I know that there are a lot of unknowns for the world race (despite all of my time “blog stalking”) and am unsure of what to truly expect but here are a few of my expectations:

  • I expect to be uncomfortable, not just without a regular bed to sleep in, having internet, or other comforts of home but the kind of uncomfortable where God is stretching and breaking you on a daily basis so that HE can teach you lessons about how much HE loves you, how much He wants you to rely on HIM and how HE wants to use you to bring other’s into His kingdom. This is God’s kind of uncomfortable; the kind where HE is transforming us into who HE wants us to be.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

  • I expect to do things that I won’t really want to do, and to learn to use skills I never knew I had.
  • I expect God to be with us everywhere we go and for HIM to provide us with unexpected blessings every day.

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will be withheld from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusts in them”
Psalm 84:11-12

  • I expect God is going to provide for all of our needs.
  • I expect that HE is going to provide all of the funds that I need for the world race.

“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:19

  • I expect to be challenged; to have my toes stepped on daily as I learn a whole new reliance on God.
  •  I expect to make friends and memories that will last a life time and to lose all personal space.
  • I expect God will do great things in and through us: to see miracles, to other’s lives transformed as we share Christ with them, and our lives changed as we allow God to use us.

“For you will go out with joy and be led forth with peace; The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you, And all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:12

I so excited to see what God has in store for the U squad and our September 2013 route 1!
