I was the wanderer.

Throughout the end of high school into college I really struggled to feel connected with God. I felt lost and broken, and had turned into a selfish wanderer. I believed the lie that college was “my time” and that this was about “me figuring out myself”. Feeling this loss of direction and passion, I took some time off of school to try to figure out “my life”.

It was during this time that God met me, and absolutely took back what was His all along- my heart.

I am so thankful the trek ended long before 40 years had passed, but as the Israelites were able to see their true selves after their time in the desert, I was able to see with clear vision my brokenness and sinful nature. I came to the realization that this life is not mine to live, I am simply a child of a loving Father who I absolutely can not get through this life without. Through His grace I am saved and given life. He has a purpose for me, just as He has a purpose for you too! This life is not about us, it is about pursuing our Heavenly Father and honoring whatever God is calling us to do.

I visited a church one Sunday where a talented cellist gave a beautiful analogy. We are all simply an instrument in God’s infinitely beautiful orchestra. Each instrument is vital in carrying out His song. Through us, His melodies will be heard around the world. If our melody gets out of rhythm, our Almighty Conductor will be there to tune us back into harmony. We may lose a string, or even break from time to time, but our faithful God continues to see worth in our talents and conduct us along the way.

God’s current Promise Land for me may not be “flowing with milk and honey”. More accurately, there will be lands overflowing with slums, disease, prostitutes, hungry children, and more heartache than any human could handle alone. But through the love and faithfulness of our Almighty Conductor, we will be able to spread His melodies to those who need to hear it most, and hopefully add more instruments to His infinite orchestra.

UPDATE

Thanks to God working through YOU I was able to not only meet my first deadline, but exceed my goal! This is a huge accomplishment and means so much to me.

I am now able to go to training camp October 15-25th which I am super excited for. I have most of my gear which is another HUGE step. God has been so faithful on this journey so far!

Time for launch is getting very close. It will be either January 7th or 8th. In the meantime, I need to meet my next financial goal of $10,000 by December 18th. This means I have $5,295 to go. If you feel lead to donate that would be absolutely amazing. Also, prayers would be incredibly appreciated during this time- for God’s continued guidance, financial support, safe travels, and for my amazing family and sweet Nick who have been so encouraging throughout this process- I am SO thankful!!!!
