You know the adage your parents tell you when you're young: Never say never.
Yeah.
This one time in college, I had that attitude. There was an emphasis on missions and I remember sitting in the balcony for chapel. I'd felt called to foreign missions since I was 16, so my heart was open to what was being said. Except for one thing. Wherever God called me, I hoped it didn't mean I would have to live in a tent. Anywhere but in a tent.
Funny story. Participating in the World Race means…living in a tent. But you know what? I am totally ok with this. In fact I am quite excited. See:
That's a real smile there. This tent (well, not this one because that's the demo) is in my living room just waiting for me to figure out how to put it together.
I have never in my life been real camping in a tent. I have never in my life slept in a tent. Or put together a tent, even for play. Yet in 2014 my home will more often than not be in my little Marmot Limelight 2. The reason I am excited about living in this tent, though: I get to love on people in God's name. I'll be doing what He has called me to do and it doesn't matter where I lay my head at night. As long as I am in His will.
