To the one who has rescued my soul

To the one who has welcomed me home

To the one who is Savior of all

I sing forever

First thank you for stopping by my page and taking the time to read my blog. I’m beyond excited to participate in the World Race and dive into this next chapter of my life. If you read my “About Me” page then most of this is repeated information but I wanted to go ahead and get a blog up on my page with why I decided to join the World Race. There will be many more blog posts to follow.

A little bit about myself… My name is Anna Beth. I grew up in Columbia, SC and went to school at USC (Go Cocks!) where I majored in hospitality and tourism management. I’m currently 25 and work in marketing and event planning.  A few of my current obsessions are running, Harry Potter weekends, hiking, pizza, Nicholas Sparks books, traveling, cooking and my pups. I have the world’s CUTEST niece and nephew (I’m a very proud aunt AB) and I’ve been blessed with a pretty awesome family and group of friends. So why am I giving this beautiful way of living up for 11 months to live a life completely outside my comfort zone?…where I’ll go days, maybe weeks without a shower, where it’s not a matter of if but when I’ll get sick (probably multiple times), where I’ll most likely be sleeping outside, on the ground every night, where I’ll go months without Starbucks (WHAT), and not to mention, when I come back I’ll be jobless, insurance-less and almost 27.  Am I crazy? This question runs through my mind on a daily basis and some days I scream “YES!”.

But then I’m reminded of the undeserving love Jesus has for me and the peace I have knowing I’m found in Him. There are entirely way too many people in this world that don’t know the love and grace their Father has for them. They don’t know how precious they are seen in His eyes and they don’t know how truly awesome He is!

I’ve been praying about my next steps for a while. For a long time I thought that He would bless me with a new job where I felt like I was directly serving Him… You know, preferably in Greenville where my sisters live and I can love on my niece and nephew whenever I want. Well our plans aren’t always His plans and sometimes we need to be overly prepared for what we pray for…. 🙂

Lord, you sure do have a sense of humor! Boy oh boy, this is not what I had in mind when I wrote this prayer down last fall. I prayed for an interruption and I received an interruption. Therefore coming this October, I’m fully surrendering myself to Jesus and putting my faith in Him. I’ll be spending a month in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines, Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya.

I’m so excited/ nervous/ terrified to see what the Lord has in store for me on this journey! My biggest challenge right now is fundraising so I’m asking you to consider joining in on this adventure with me financially. Pray about it! If the Lord presses it on your heart, I’m asking you to listen to that but if it’s not something He tells you to do then you need to listen to that as well. Regardless of if you are able to give or not I hope you will follow and subscribe to my blog throughout my trip so you can see all of the ways God will be working for His good.

Needless to say I can not wait to officially meet my squad at training camp in August and join in on this adventure with them! God is so good!
