Dear Mom and Dad,
Here we are, team PUSH now in Romania with team 2:20. It’s pretty cold, so cold my boogers froze while still in my nose. I’m learning the real meaning of cold and how to work a wood burning furnace. Chopping wood is pretty entertaining when you do it with the right people. Just for the record, smoke coming out of the furnace=not good. Worry not, Kevin fixed it. We’re here at camp “The Seventh Spring” please don’t ask me to type it out in Romanian, sometimes I think I know what they’re saying to me and other times I just smile and nod hoping that they’re not planning on leaving me outside. Tonight it is 10 below zero, but it’s so nice and toasty inside that I’m in shorts and flip-flops, don’t worry I don’t go outside dressed like that, well maybe the shorts…just kidding. After the 9 hours on flights and the 14 hours in a train station in Bucharest and the 10 hour train ride and then the 600 yard hike through the 4 feet of snow with packs and day packs with only our socks and keens (or, Toms, Chuck Tayolrs, and tennis shoes) we arrived at “The Seventh Spring”. A camp for kids given it’s name because the name of the town translated means Six-Springs. No one knows where these springs are, and I’m not about to go looking for them in this cold. We all warmed our feet in the tub, no joke 6 of us had our feet in the hot tub after that hike, tan lines and all, standing room only. We’re eating well, sleeping well, and other than some sniffles and sore backs we’re doing well. I love you lots and miss you tons. Give hugs all around and please pray for this horrible cold spell to go away.
Love,
Ann
P.S. Please send sweaters!
