This past month (March) we worked in Swaziland. I worked with a few other racers (two were my teammates and one was from another team) doing agricultural work. Women on my team were combined with another team of women and we worked together for this month only. All the men on our squad were put together to do ministry for this month as their own team. We also had another all female team from our squad living with us in the same house. Altogether there were 16 women in house. Most of the others worked at care points (teaching children) and a few others worked at an AIM office in the town close to us called Manzini.
So for this month I helped prepare a field for planting, helped set up a strawberry garden and at the end of month we were able to plant a variety of vegetables in the field. The point of this ministry was to help the care points have a vegetable garden that the children could help take care of and eat from. We had a good time working with our agricultural manager (Lucky) and his co-worker (Shady – his Swazi name means “in the shade). Anyway this was one of our longest months doing ministry but we enjoyed working and living with the other team.
Now we are headed to Ireland where some of us (including me) will be meeting up with our parents later in the month to do ministry (from April 17-22). Please pray for our travels as we transition to our final continent (and final four countries) as well as for fruitful ministry this month and during the parent vision trip.
