This month in Cambodia my team is working with a small church outside the city of Phnom Penh. The pastor is a young man (28 years old) named Thyven (think Steven without the s). He has a great love for his church as well as for the villages around him. He put himself through Bible school and is leading a church of about 43 people, mostly young people and children. To support himself Pastor Thyven paints and teaches painting. He sells his paintings and does other jobs to pay for personal living expenses and church expenses as well as taking care of his family (parents and siblings). Pastor Thyven’s mother was recently in an accident so he is also having to deal with that on top of his other responsibilities. My team will be going with him into some villages and will also be teaching English every evening Tuesday through Saturday.
Prayer requests:
That this small church/ministry would grow in their knowledge and love for Jesus.
That God would continue to provide Pastor Thyven with financial support, energy and workers to help him. Also pray for quick and strong healing for his mother.
That my team would be a blessing and encouragement to the work this church is doing.
My team leader, Jacob, has been sick. Also we have been warned about illness during our time here. Please pray for protection and health for my team as well as for the Cambodians we are working with.
