I may have mentioned before that there are two teams here and that most of the other team and two girls from our team our working at a kindergarten. The rest of us have done a variety of tasks for our contact including: cutting the grass, painting the kindergarten, cleaning the windows and fans in the house we are staying in and in the kindergarten, making arts and crafts items for the school program next month, preparing a piece of the yard to become a garden and a few other things I’m probably forgetting. However despite this list we have had a great deal of free time which generally involves going into town to get lunch and/or dinner and also getting internet.
So even though the work I have had to do while here has been very light there have been many things that my team and then I personally have been dealing with.
Here are a few things that have happened and to keep in your prayers.
– One of my teammates was sent home a couple of weeks ago. He will not be continuing on the World Race with us. Please pray for my team that we may continue to grow in strength and unity in the coming months.
– While traveling to a nearby city some of my team and I visited a beach where one of my teammates (Karen) was stung in the foot by a stingray. She is healing quickly but pray that this continues and that she reaches complete healing soon. In addition some of my other teammates have been dealing with sickness or just not feeling 100% ( Ben, BreAnna and Jenn). So please pray for complete healing for them as well.
– A young couple I knew from my time in Laos died last week in a plane crash. The young man was the son of my former team leader. Please pray for their family and friends during this time of shock and grief.
– Pray for me as I am feeling somewhat apathetic about being on the Race right now. I know there is a reason I am here but obviously this month has been all over the place and at times I am having trouble staying focused on the here and now.
– Pray for my squad as we are about to move on to our third country (Vietnam). Most of us will be working in Ho Chi Minh City. We leave Malaysia on November 3.
Thank you for your continued prayers.
