This is an online version of my support letter (with a few changes). If anyone reading this did not receive a prayer reminder card please let me know and I will be happy to send one to you.
Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
As some of you may know I have been accepted into a missions program called the World Race which is a part of Adventures in Missions. In seeking where the Lord would have me serve this opportunity presented itself.
The World Race involves traveling to 11 countries in 11 months. I will be traveling with a squad (40-60 people) who will be divided into smaller groups (5-7) while working in these countries. My squad is known as V squad and we will be going to the following countries: Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, Ukraine, Romania, Nepal and India. This route is subject to change but hopefully I will be able to go and serve in all these places.
What we do every day on the race may vary. World Race partners with Christian ministries worldwide. The types of ministries could include: teaching English, caring for orphans, reaching out to trafficking victims, encouraging pastors, missionaries and the church around the world, among other things. Many of the places we go can't always provide lodging. This is why everything I take on this trip only includes what I can carry. This means I will only be taking a back packers bag, a tent, and a sleeping bag.
I appreciate all the support and encouragement you all have given me during my time in Asia and am thankful to say that my support raising needs for this trip have already been met.
Please keep me in your prayers as I travel to training in July (to Georgia) and then leave on this trip in September. Please pray:
– That Christ would be made known and glorified among the lost in these countries
– For the church body within each country
– My squad and teammates who are preparing, packing, and support raising
– Me as I prepare (especially spiritually for this journey).
I have included a card with some of the most basic information about this trip and my contact information that I hope you can keep close as a prayer reminder. Checking my blog will be the best way to stay updated on my journey and prayer requests. I would also enjoy hearing from you as well as knowing any prayer needs you may have.
Thank you again for your prayers, support and encouragement.
Sincerely
Angie Walker
