God has done so many things since the last time I’ve written so I want to catch everyone up. Since it’s the beginning of the month…SURPRISE! I’m in a new country. 🙂 We left the Philippines on Friday morning at 4 am, had a three and a half hour flight to Singapore, then a three hour layover in the Singapore International Airport. After our layover in Singapore (the country where it’s illegal to spit or chew gum because of sanitary reasons) we made it to Bangkok, Thailand for cultural orientation.
Our whole squad of 60 stayed at the WYAM base in the middle of the city and we were briefed on the dos and don’ts of the Thailand culture. Other than meetings at WYAM headquarters, my team and I got to spend a lot of quality time together which was amazing since we didn’t get a lot of that last month. I went with my team mate, Haile to get a “Traditional Thai Massage” one afternoon but it hurt like the Dickens because it is all about pressure points and stretching your body and I’m the most inflexible person on the planet. Needless to say I spent a lot of time yelling during my massage and Haile spent a lot of time giggling at my yelling and flailing about. So far I love it here in Thailand, even though it’s completely different than the Philippines and I miss Kids International Ministry and Samaritana Ministry horribly.
For the month of February my team is working with the “Crash of Love” team and we will be ministering in the southern tip of Thailand to women trapped in prostitution. Out of respect for our contact and for safety reasons, I cannot say what our ministry’s name is, the city we’re working in our the names of individuals on my blog (since it’s public and not private like Facebook). I promise to blog about everything God’s doing in the red light district of this city, the bar ministry we will be partaking in and the organization we will be fighting along side, but I will leave out the real names of everyone and everything. If you want to know the name of the ministry I’m working with please send me an e-mail and I’ll let you know!
We left Bangkok and had a 14 hour over night bus trip to our ministry site and now that we’re here I can’t believe we have the honor of doing nothing but praying for and loving on women in prostitution. Many people on my team and on the “Crash of Love” team have had dreams and visions of doing this particular ministry and even the names of women they will meet this next month and I can’t wait to see the visions and dreams unfold before all of our eyes!
It is no coincidence that the Lord orchestrated me working with Samaritana Ministries in the Philippines and because of those experiences last month I now feel more equipped with knowledge and discernment in the area of prostitution and bar ministry. I know the Lord still has so much to show and teach me but I also know that He has lead me and my team to the perfect ministry for that. We are so blessed by our contacts and they both walk in such strong authority in Christ and believe prayer and intercession is the most powerful tool we have against Satan and his army of demons. Our contacts have it set up and scheduled in to where we are praying and interceding for each other and for the women trapped in prostitution every day.
We will be going out and doing bar ministry every other night of the week and the nights we stay back at the ministry base we are called to pray and intercede for the teams going out to the bars on their nights of outreach. We also have many times during the day where we will drive to the red light district of the city and do prayer walks down the streets, praying for the Lord to destroy the brothels and bars and praying that the women walk away from their lives in the sex industry and towards the life Jesus has for them. This month is going to be life changing and incredible but it will be one of the more spiritually exhausting months for me and the two World Race teams here.
Another team that will be coming to this ministry location in the middle of February is the Human Trafficking World Racers….on of which is my dear friend NATASHA HURT from my home church, First Presbyterian!! I am incredibly overwhelmed and thrilled that the Lord is allowing us to spend time together on the mission field and minister along side one another so praise JESUS for that!!!
Please be praying for my team, the “Crash of Love” team and for Natasha Hurt’s WR Human Trafficking team. We need as much intercessory prayer as we can get doing this kind of ministry and we know that the devil will try to attack us with plenty of schemes this month but IN JESUS NAME we will overcome each one of his attacks and plots. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement, loved ones. You are fighting to end the commercial sex industry just as much as any one of us in Thailand because of your love, support and PRAYER. Blessings and Abundance to ALL on this day…

Emily and I on the 14 hour bus ride from Bangkok to the south of Thailand…YAAAY for Asian snacks on World Race Travel Days!!!!
This is an area of the bars where we will be ministering in.The red light district has over 200 bars and each bar has 6 to 8 women prostituting themselves in them every night. That’s over 1,200 women trapped in the sex industry in one street alone.
