With that said, ever since we got to CICRIN both team Lovebound and team Pnuma have been attacked spiritually. Some of the girls have been waking up at 3 in the morning feeling terrified (2 Timothy 1:7) burdened by spirits of the enemy. For the first two weeks some of them were so exhausted from lack of sleep, it was affecting their ministry the next day. Some of the team had been getting horrific images, mostly in the form of nightmares while they were sleeping. I know this because the Devil is a coward and isn’t strong enough to attack disciples while they are conscious, but has to oppress them while they are weaker and asleep. Well one night after prayer one of my team mates felt so oppressed by demonic forces that she went straight up to our dorm (we call where we sleep “the Upper Room”) and told all the girls we need to pray over every room and do declarations and worship because there is something evil attacking the grounds.

We went to each and every room, laying hands on the walls and rebuking every territorial demon, demon of fear, demon of wrath, demon of sexual sin that were coming to attack their “old stomping grounds” from previous history. We proclaimed deliverance over every room, over each other, over the children and the staff of CICRIN and that by the blood of the Christ (Revelation 12:11), every chain would be broken, in Jesus name. Then we ended the night in worship in our kitchen, and then out on the balcony over the orphanage grounds. Some of the girls got images of the color red overcoming black and others saw angels sweeping through these grounds demons running for the hills with fear. We all felt a lift of oppression after prayer and worship, and it was an amazing night of deliverance. Christ was and is the force behind all our prayers for deliverance (Mark 9:29).

I know, sadly, that this is just the beginning. We are on the front lines for Jesus Christ, bringing the Kingdom and I know that the enemy is furious about that and will do anything he can to stop us (Revelation 12:7-11). Too bad for him that our God is greater, our God is stronger, and that there is power in the blood of Jesus to break every chain, every burden and every stronghold. The Devil doesn’t stand a fighting chance against CICRIN, team Lovebound and team Pnuma because since our God is for us, who can be against us or forsake us? NO ONE. I am slowly but surely understanding my authority as a believer and what that truly means, but the more experiences I have…the stronger my confidence as a disciple becomes. It is the faith of the believer that leads to the destruction of demons (Matthew 17:20).

It’s so easy for us to to have confidence in the Holy Spirit and faith in Jesus and the Father, but the Devil is constantly lying to us and saying “You’re not worthy. You’re inadequate. You’re weak.” This is the spirit of lying (1 Kings 22:22-23), inadequacy and deception (Revelation 12:9) oppressing us (Ecclesiastes 7:7), telling us that we are nothing so that we don’t stand up and fight. Know this, readers…YOU are beloved. YOU are adored, by the Creator of the Universe. YOU have the potential for authority and power if you allow the Holy Spirit to radically change you. YOU can have all these things and more if you just ask Jesus. And remember, whatever is oppressing you or attacking you, God will fight for you, protect you, rescue you (Psalm 91:14) and conquer it by the blood of His Son, Christ Jesus.
