I AM HERE!!! IN GUATEMALA!!! OUR FIRST COUNTRY ON THE WORLD RACE OCTOBER 2010 ROUTE!!!

After three long plane rides (where I was able to sleep in the middle seat…PRAISE JESUS!), a layover in El Salvador and our interesting experience with Taca Airlines…yes, it’s a real airline, WE ARE HERE!!

The country of Guatemala is absolutely gorgeous. I had no idea. We arrived and everything is just hills and lush vegetation and colors. There are colors everywhere: the people’s clothes, the food, the instruments, the walls of the buildings, etc. etc. There’s just so much to soak in and it’s crazy that this is all finally happening. For the first 24 hours of the Race I felt very apathetic simply because I was still in shock and thought I was dreaming or something. Now that I’m laying in my bed with five racers around me, the reality that this year has become has finally hit me. WOW! I have 330 days on the World Race. I want to make each and every one of them count.

We find out what type of ministry we’ll be doing tomorrow as well as where we will be doing ministry, and I can’t wait!! Speaking of ministry, groups and teams…I have some shocking news. It’s both good and bad, but sadly, Team Sozo is no longer in existence.

With four people dropping out after training camp and leaving three teams with only one guy, they decided to drop one team and go from 10 teams to 9 teams. That means a bunch of people were split up and placed with already formed teams or they took partial teams and put them with other partial teams. This…is the World Race. CHANGE. Once you get used to something, it changes and God forces you to depend on HIM. While I’m so sad to see Keryn, Becca, Cody and Brandi Jo on other teams, I know God has blessed this process and He is on His throne in charge. This was meant to happen for a reason and we are on the right teams that God has placed us on.

With that, my new team is “Team Lovebound” where I am with Alana, Mac, Angela Grit, Paul, Sarah and Hailey (pronounced high-lee). These are the people (atleast for the time being) that God has placed me with. I will learn from them, teach them a thing or two, and we will all grow and minister together. I am very excited.

Know that your prayers are being answered every second I am on this Race. I feel a peace and comfort that can only come from the Holy Spirit and that is only because I have amazing loved ones back home lifting me up in prayer. THANK YOU.

I love and miss you all. Not going to lie, getting to talk to Marshall for 10 minutes on Skype tonight was wonderful… 😉

Blessings to all of you!!!!
