Last week, I posted that I was needing a specific amount to meet my first goal of September 30th.  Now, I sit at $4755!  My next goal is $6500 by December 15.  I have no doubt that will be met early too.  I feel that I have done nothing out of the ordinary, but God has.  Out of that money sitting in my account, over $600 of it has been given by people I don’t even know.  $1200 coming in one day and $1700 in another day.  I did not have to beg, borrow, or steal.  I just communicated a need and God allowed many of you to help meet that need.  So, what does meeting that deadline mean?  Well, it means I am now allowed to go to training camp in October.  Now I can really learn what this is journey I signed up for is all about.  I am going to be challenged for the first time at things like sleeping in a tent and possibly in the COLD at night.  Although I am praying really really hard that we have a nice warm week.  If you know me, you know that I HATE cold weather a lot.   So, as I prepare for my first big part of this trip, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me thus far with money, prayers, encouraging words, and just plain being a part of my life.  I have some pretty supportive awesome people in my life and for that I am very grateful.

So far in this journey, I have sold most of my things, given up living on my own, and taken a job that is making less than half of my former salary.  I bought travel insurance, will get lots of shots soon and am continuing to serve in my church, community, and mentor and love young people all the way up until I leave.  None of this is because of me.  I truly am doing all of this because I believe there are more important things in this life than living for myself.  If I don’t make life better for someone else and give back to those who have given so much to me, then I am living for nothing.  God has given me an able body, sharp mind, and a lot of love to give to others.  So, I will use my body and mind to serve and share love with others.  Please partner with me so that you don’t miss a blessing.  When I was choosing whether to do this trip as God had prompted me to do, my thought was, “what will I miss out on that God wants to show me if I don’t do it?” Then, I thought about all the people that God has appointed for me to show His love to and I just couldn’t bear to not meet and love on these people, so I chose to be obedient to God.  Choose to be obedient today.  Whatever it is, I promise it will be worth it!
