Yep – six of us are off to Croatia!
Or rather… our signatures and pictures are on their way to Croatia (start breathing again, Jimmy).
Aletheia (my team) and Libre are in Hong Kong working with a group called Crossroads. This organization is one of the largest, most diverse and most impressive operations I’ve ever seen. The nuts and bolts of what they do is connect people with resources to people in need.
Today, six of us worked on loading a very large shipping container with all manner of things that are being shipped to Croatia. There were multiple pieces of gym equipment, forty some-odd sets of bunkbeds, many many boxes of Cathay Pacific blankets and countless other items. At the end of the afternoon, once each item had been marked off for the bill of lading and put in the container, the last things to go in were pretty cool. Everyone who had helped with the loading was asked to sign a ‘card’ to the folks getting the shipment, and we all had our pictures taken in front of the very full container. These were put in just before the doors clanged shut. Hence I say, we are going to Croatia!
