Dear Friends and Family,
You know from my past endeavors that I am a compassionate person. God has put a need in me to make a difference. Some of you have supported me from my very first fundraising bike ride when I was in the third grade. Others of you have helped with my AIDS Vaccine Rides, or with Mother and I on our Multiple Sclerosis rides. Some of you have seen me with one of my Guiding Eyes Puppies out and about in the community. This is, first of all, a heartfelt thank you for all of your help in the past.
Always in search of a new way to be of service and to help those less fortunate than I, several months ago, I began exploring the idea of a Mission trip. “Pro Deo et Genero Humano” are the words that grace the crest of Holderness School. It translates to “For God and Human Kind.” To this effort, next summer I will be embarking on The World Race. The World Race is a Mission and Ministry trip that will see me living in 11 countries in 11 months. Past locations where Racers have ministered include: Mexico, Peru, Guatemala, Swaziland, South Africa, Kenya, Thailand, Cambodia, China, Philippines and a host of other countries where people are in desperate need.
In some countries, I may be living at an orphanage and working with children all day, or I may be speaking with teenagers in Thailand who have fallen into prostitution and showing them a more abundant life. In other situations, I may be camping with my team (4-6 others) and introducing Jesus to people for the first time. There will be language barriers and cultural barriers to break down through the four weeks of ministry in every location.
Throughout this adventure, we will have regular connections to the internet, and I will be updating my blog (http://angifrancesco.theworldrace.org) and sharing photos and videos from myriad points around the globe. Feel free to play along with the real life “Where in the World is Angi Francesco?”
I thank God for this opportunity that is before me and I trust He will meet my needs. Ultimately, my prayer is that He will do that through you. I would be honored if you could partner financially and prayerfully with me in this ministry. I must raise roughly $1636.00 each month I stay to cover travel and living expenses for this Mission. This is a total of $18,000.00 for the entire eleven months. A number of you are in a position to financially contribute to my support. I calculated that if five people gave $3600 each, or ten people gave $1800, or 50 gave $360 ($30 a month for a year), or if 120 gave only $150 then I would meet my goal! Will you please consider supporting me for one of these amounts?
I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, which invites you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to Adventures In Missions. You may write “Appealed by Angi Francesco” in the memo section of the check. All donations should be mailed to Adventures In Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA, 30353-4470. Including the enclosed card will provide Adventures In Missions with all the necessary information. Adventures In Missions is registered with the IRS as a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Donors will receive receipts for their gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the discretions of Adventures In Missions and that the gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable, per IRS regulations. Gifts may be tax deductible, please consult your tax advisor.
My friends, this is not a weekend adventure, or a trifling diversion. This is not something I applied to on a whim. This stems from a place deep in my heart calling out for me to be a part of something bigger than myself, bigger than Holderness and bigger even than Squam Lake. This is something that once I heard about, and researched, and saw through current Racers’ blogs, I could not sit by idly and simply watch. This is me, acting on this calling to devote more than a year of my life to service to others. Please partner with me in this ministry!

I am only one.
But I am one.
I cannot do Everything.
But I can do Something.
The Something I ought to do, I can do.
And by the Grace of God, I will.
