For month 3 of the Race the girls from team Awaken and team Dunamis combined to form team Dunken. We lived in Rurrenabaque, Bolivia and did ministry at Casa de los Niños preschool. We played and helped with the children, but most of our time was spent painting and fixing up the preschool. We painted interactive designs on the outer floor and walls so that learning could be extended to the outdoors, as well. Our host’s son, JJ, and our translator, Sarita, basically became a part of our team. JJ loved to joke with us and would make giant pancakes for us each morning (they were seriously bigger than my head!). We visited a village in the jungle and trekked through crazy amounts of mud to speak with different families.
It was extremely hot and humid in Rurre and we found ourselves sweating all the time… No matter what we were doing or where we were. Enjoy the parody we made in honor of the constant sweat we excreted!
