Dear Family and Friends,
I apologize again for the lack of blog updates recently. My computer access has been very limited recently, and I have had very little time to write and post blogs. As soon as I get the chance, however, I will be sure to update you thoroughly on my time here in Tanzania.
Today, though, I wanted to just post a short blog in honor of Thanksgiving (my favorite holiday). It is hard to be away from home on Thanksgiving Day, so I thought, to make up for it, I will remind myself (and all of you) of at least a few of the things I am incredibly thankful for. If I listed all of the things I could think of to be thankful for, this list could go on for pages. So, instead, I will just mention of a few of the things that come to mind that I am specifically thankful for today, November 25, 2010…
-the ability to communicate with people back home on Thanksgiving Day
-Iringa, Tanzania…specifically the amazing Pastor Jacob ChaCha and family
-a wonderful Thanksgiving Day lunch in Tanzania courtesy of Justin Jue (I had lasagna and a brownie)
-the fact that I am going to Asia in a week!!!!!!!!
-peppermint herbal tea
-the sweet safari I went on yesterday (lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, zebra…yes please!)
-the appearance I made as a “Flat Stanley” at Cathleen’s wedding- sorry I couldn’t be there, my friend!
-the girls of 1870 S. Lumpkin Street. I’m obsessed.
-all the many people who are praying for me
-God’s patience with me, even when I am stubborn and hard-headed
-Team Wellspring…Brittany Priess, Brittany Cox, Dan Montenegro, Jenny Hill, Justin Jue. I love all of you so much.
-the mountains outside my window
-P90X
-the ability to praise God with music. and the ability to dance.
-any chance i get to eat something other than rice, beans, or ugali
-Susan Morgan…the most wonderful mother I could ask for after losing my own.
-surviving malaria
-times when my heart feels so full i could burst (most of the time)
-the best brother a girl could ask for
-the two extra brownies I bought at lunch for the bus ride tomorrow (okay, fine, I already ate one…)
-…and so so so much more!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Thank you, as always, for following my journey.
Ephesians 3:16-19
Love, Angela
