So I arrived safely at the Atlanta
airport at 8AM. Slowly and surely more and more racers started to congregate.
While at the airport we caught up and napped because most of us were only going
on 2-3 hours of sleep. At 5ish we finally left the airport and headed out to
the camp. Now it’s the second full day of training camp in White, Georgia. Let me tell you that it is hot and
humid. I’m talking 96 degrees and 80% humidity so you sweat just sitting there.
Thankfully we are blessed to have a few building with air conditioning, but we
all know that this is a luxury we probably won’t experience on the race.
To be honest I am not sleeping in
my tent, many of the girls are not because we were given the option of sleeping
in cabins (not like Geneva, very basic) BUT the cabins do have air. So given
that option or sleeping in a tent on hill in the humidity I chose the cabin.
When God gives you the option take it!
But don’t think that I’m sitting in the air all the time, I really only
get to sleep in the air.
I
don’t know how much I am allowed to tell about what we are doing, but my eyes
have definitely been opened up. I have experienced and seen so many things in
worship and lectures alone that I have never seen or experienced before. We
have 3 squads here this week and my squad is the S-squad. I love our squad! We
are definitely going to do great things. The worship band is AMAZING I cannot
wait to introduce you to their songs. They are so spirit filled and powerful.
The staff is super supportive and constantly praying over us. I want you all to know that I actually
jumped into a lake here. It was cloudy with red clay and as warm as bath water.
I definitely got in and swam around for a few minutes until a fish attacked
someone. It kept trying to bite her necklace. It was a short swim, but in the
Georgia heat it was somewhat wonderful.
