One thing that is great about the end of the race is you get to get rid of clothes that you no longer want and/or no longer going to wear.

This month my friend Nate met a guy who easily grown attached to us. He didn’t ask us for anything or try to get anything from us, He just wanted to make new friends.

So Nate befriended him and hung out with him the most, played Frisbee and introduced him to e-mail (he doesn’t even know how to use the internet).

And He brought over his friend to play guitar for us. His friend built this guitar himself and taught himself how to play. He was really good.

Nate went to his house one day and the guy showed him around. He slept on the floor with a thin mat and he only had 2 pairs of clothes that he switched day by day.

Well this guy we met his name was Blessings! What a great name.
He became more of a blessing to us just as much we to him.

As I was saying, at the end of the race we get rid of clothes to lighten up our bag (but we just end up filling it back up with souvenirs) and get rid of the stuff that we will no longer use.

I had a two grocery bags full of items I was getting rid of. Tennis shoes, sandals, dress shirts, t-shirts, shorts, jerseys and a jacket. It was sitting by the door of our room and I was planning on just blessing our contact pastor with it before we left, but the night before we left Nate came in the room and asked if I could let Blessings look through the clothes I was giving away.

He looked through them all and had a hugs smile on his face. It was like Christmas to him. To him new clothes and shoes and other things he could use. It was so awesome. He started to well up with tears but as a “Man” he hid his emotions.

He walked away happier than he has probably felt in a while, and he got “new” items to wear.
You reap what you sow. It’s wonderful to sow in a blessing, as one will be reaped in due time .
