Tuesday morning, we woke up ate breakfast, then had our morning devotional time. Sing a few songs then have a time of prayer. A typical morning this month in Thailand, but this Tuesday was different. Two of the kids that our contact knows stopped by this morning. One whose name is “Heart” (nicknames that friends have given them) we know him from the break dancing group that we hang out with on a regular basis. The other, his name is “Most”, we have never met him before until that morning.
"Heart" came over to hang out with us in the morning since he didn’t have class until later. "Most" came for a completely different purpose.
“Most” said he felt like he needed to come and talk to Taa- our contact for the month.
Something happened the night before and needed clarification as to what it was.
Most and Heart are actually best friends who go to school and break dance with each other, but this morning they didn’t know that each other would be going to Taa’s house.
So Monday night “Most” went out to dinner with his girlfriend. After they ate Most felt like he needed to go bring food to his cousin, who he knows needed food.
He expressed this to his girlfriend, but she said “no” and said lets go hang out with everyone. He didn’t want to go, and deep down inside he knew he wasn’t supposed to go. He knew that he was supposed to bring his cousin food.
So after battling with what he was feeling and with what his girlfriend wanted to do, they ended up going to go hang out with their friends.
As he is driving his motorcycle to the place where everyone is at, somehow, someway road debris kicks up and something hits him in his tooth and breaks his front tooth in half!
He pulls over and can’t believe what just happened. Frustrated, as all can be. Now after that he doesn’t want to do anything but just go home. So as he is on the side of the road in a little pain he gets a phone call. It’s his cousin asking him to bring him food because he is hungry! “Most” just chuckles and off he goes picking up food for his cousin and doing what he knew he was supposed to do.
After we hear his story, Taa asks us to pray for him. So we do and my team of seven surround him in a circle and just start praying. We pray that he would hear and heed the voice of the Lord and that he would have divine God encounters and so much more. “Most” said he wants a cross to put above his bed, so he can be reminded and feel God’s protection every night and day. What's even greater about this is that "Most" isn't even a follwer of Jesus.
How awesome is that!
It caused me to reflect my own life.
When that still small voice speaks to me, do I listen and do what He is speaking to me or do I go the opposite way?
It reminds me of what Paul says in the scriptures, Romans 7:19 “ For the good that I will to do, I do not do, but what I will not to do, I do.”
My prayer becomes that I do all that the Holy Spirit speaks to me, and that my daily answer for Him is yes and Amen!
The next day, we go hang out with the break dancers and Heart and Most are there. That night they decided that they want to give their life to Jesus. Two more entering the Kingdom of God. Praise Jesus!!
What a Glorious night!
