We were waiting for church to start in the village that we had been working in for sometime, Lomo de Corvina. This was actually our first church service ever. We had built the walls on the church and now we were getting ready to invite people and have a little service. Jenny and I went to find her a Coca-cola light. Which is nearly impossible to find in the town. There was not a shortage of stores, but none of them had Coca-cola light.

We went down this little street that dead ended and Jenny went to a little store to ask. I was standing there and this man came up to me and asked if I was there to help. I said that I was and asked what the problem was. He went on to tell me that his Daughter who is 7 cannot walk, talk or eat solid food.

We told him that we could not do to much to help but we could go and pray for him if he would like that. We ended up going to his house with his wife and their other two children. We met the little girl named Anna. It was heart breaking, this girl could move her legs but her whole body was so twisted that she could not walk. We prayed for a pretty good amount of time. We decided that we should go back and get a translator and then return to make sure we didn{t miss anything.

We walked back to the church and spent a lot of the time praying that God would show up and heal this girl. We found Dana a translator and brought her back. We learned more about the family and their story. We shared some scripture with them. We then asked the dad who told us he was a christian to pray for his daughter. It broke my heart to see this man completely broken for his daughter, crying calling out to God to heal his daughter. We then asked if they wanted to walk down to the church and meet some people from the church there and have them pray for her. They said they would like that. By the time we got back we realized that everyone was gone except for the pastor and a couple other people. The pastor prayed for them and got their address. Then we walked the family back with some food and other things that the pastor had gotten. Another lady from the church accompianed us and she invited them to a lot of different church functions and prayer times.

I would love to say that the girl was healed, but she wasn´t. That is not an easy thing to accept. It is so hard to walk into someones home to pray for their sick daughter and not see God heal them. I don’t understand it at all, and sometimes frankly it frustrates me. My heart ached for that girl. My heart ached for her parents who were crying out for God to help them. He barely works also and the little money he gets all goes to taking care of this girl. I just hope that we were obedient to God and did all we could do. I guess in a way it is amazing to see how God works everything out. And how he will use something like searching for a coke, change someones life. Please pray for this family and especially little Anna.
